Magdalen M. "Marge" (McWhorter) Morris, 96 of Effingham, went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, February 8, 2015 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A CCW rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Marge was born May 3, 1918 in Green Creek, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Ludwig) Tegeler. She married Cecil "Doc" McWhorter and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1960. After Doc's passing, Marge married Vernon "Vernie" Morris and he also preceded her in death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and the Council of Catholic Women. Marge worked for 20 years in the McWhorter Grocery Store and also for the Illinois Glove Factory and Kern Manufacturing.

Marge is survived by her three sons, Charles (friend, Connie) of Dieterich, Robert (Nina) of Effingham and Sam (friend, Wanda) of Dieterich; two brothers, Frank Tegeler of Effingham and Alphonse (Margie) Tegeler of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Sue McWhorter and Tom's special friend, Carole Sue Ullrich; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sons, Clinton "Curly" and Tom; three sisters, Francis, Sr. Christine and Louise Clagg; four brothers, Lawrence, Aloysius, George, Conrad; daughter-in-law, Pam McWhorter.
