Madonna E. Goellner, 95 of Effingham, passed away Thursday morning, September 21, 2017 at Heritage Woods Assisted Living in Flora.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to time of mass, Saturday morning at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice. www.bauerfh.com
Madonna was born July 4, 1922 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Bussman. She moved to Chicago and worked for Appleton Electric for many years. Madonna married Howard Goellner on June 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2004. After 52 years in Chicago, Madonna moved to Effingham in 1992.
Madonna is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; sisters, Clara Hoene, Marie Koetke, Agnes Feldhake and brothers, Albert and Joe Bussman.
