Ludvina Lake, 101 of Effingham, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a parish wake service beginning at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Ludvina was born on November 25, 1911 in Lillyville, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Buhnerkemper) Wendt. She married Leonard B. Lake on August 12, 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Ludvina enjoyed playing cards, quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She and her late husband, Leonard, managed the Villa Inn for many years. Ludvina was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women.

Ludvina is survived by her son, Leon of Deerfield Beach, FL and daughter, Marlene (Tom) Rodriguez of Aurora, CO; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; son, Gene; five brothers and three sisters.
