Ludvina M. Kinkelaar, 101, of Effingham, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 at the church with a ladies sodality rosary at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Anthony Church or School.
Ludvina was born November 5, 1909 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Ferd H. and Willemina "Minnie" (Siemer) Wente. She married Bernard "Ben" Kinkelaar on November 27, 1929 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1978. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Bloemer; four grandchildren, Pat (Jim) Tegeler, Dan (Mary) Hoffman, Bob (Bonita) Hoffman and Jerry (Niki) Hoffman; ten great-grandchildren, 2 great step-grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, six great great step-grandchildren and son-in-law, Joe Hoffman.
Ludvina is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Louise Hoffman; one sister, Martha; three brothers, Leonard, Maurice "Bud" and Victor.
