Lucy M. Dilley, 81, passed away at 9:45 p.m. at her home in rural Cowden.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at First Christian Church in Herrick with Rev. Paul Dickerson officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Cowden. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service, Thursday morning at the church in Herrick. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund. Lucy was born August 27, 1931 in Moultrie County, the daughter of George and Dora (Logue) Dial. She married Bernard E. Dilley on September 21, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2000. Lucy was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.


Lucy is survived by two sons, Dennis ( Princess) of Cowden and Kenneth (Anne) of Osceola, Iowa; daughter, Sharon (Steve) Seaton of Herrick; two sisters, Iola Tate of Monticello and Peggy Tucker of Cowden; brother, Floyd Dial of Cowden; seven grandchildren, Shannon Seaton, Stephanie Fouts, Sydney Seaton, Dennis (Kathy) Dilley Jr., Bridget (Brent) Barringer, Monyonna (Eric) Riley and Ashley Dilley.


Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; brother, Elvin and two sisters, Leona "Sis" and Iva and one great grandchild.
