Lorraine E. Siemer, 87, of Sigel, passed away at 4:55 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sigel. Private family burial will be held at St. Michael Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. parish rosary. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Lorraine was born on July 31, 1924 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Louis and Teresa (Laux) Buehnerkemper. Lorraine married Leonard H. Siemer on May 14, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2002. She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel and the St. Michael Council of Catholic Women.

She leaves behind two sons, John L. (Rita) of Sigel and James J. (Kim) of Effingham; two daughters, Jean M. (James) Dodson of Valley Park, Missouri and Mary Ellen Pagliughi of Effingham; one sister, Patricia Buehnerkemper of Los Alamitos, California; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; one brother, Kenneth; one sister, Mardell Overacker.
