Lorraine C. Jones, 90 of Effingham, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m.; visitation will follow until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 5:00 p.m. C.C.W. rosary. Lorraine was born March 9, 1925 in Bishop Creek, the daughter of Leo and Clara (Niemerg) Westendorf. She married Raymond H. Jones on October 28, 1950 and he survives. Lorraine was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, St. Anthony C.C.W. and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, quilting, gardening, baking and singing in the church choir. She volunteered at the nursing homes and prayed at the H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Hospital Chapel each week. Lorraine was proud to say she was born and raised in Bishop Creek and that she earned her High School GED later in life.

Lorraine will be sadly missed by her family. They include her husband, Raymond of Effingham; two sons, William W. (Carolyn) of Naperville and Randolph L. "Randy" (Kathy) of Effingham; sister, Adeline Miller of Newton; two brothers, George (Jeannette) Westendorf of Teutopolis and Eugene (Lucy) Westendorf of Effingham; six grandchildren, Jacob Jones, Deanna Moody, Allison Jones, Darin Jones, Christopher Jones and Anna Jones; four great-grandchildren, Owen Moody, Audrey Moody, Emmalyn Moody and Corinne Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger and Ralph and sister, Olivia Will.
