Alice Loretta "Babe" Funneman, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home in Teutopolis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Memorial Donations may be made to the donor's choice.
Babe was born September 23, 1936 in Effingham, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (McMahon) Donaldson. She married Ralph Funneman on June 30, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Babe worked at a number of factories in the area and retired after 27 years at Fedders in Effingham. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Effingham.
Babe is survived by her sons, Bart (Angie) Funneman of Moweaqua, Dr. Richard (Theresa) Funneman of Smithsboro, Todd (Tara) Funneman of Teutopolis; Daughters, Teresa (Steve) Gillum, and Jane (Steve) Turner, both of Effingham; eleven grandchildren, Tyler (Megan) Funneman, Chelsey Funneman, Carsen Funneman, Madi Funneman, Lilly Funneman, Jennifer (CJ) Stevens, Brittney (Ethan) Padgett, Jason Poynter, Heather (Mike) Davis, Jill (Kevin) Koester, Joshua (Shelby) Funneman and 13 great-grandchildren, Sophie, Scarlett, Austin, T.J., Peyton, Christian, Kaden, Kale, Keaton, Kyson, Avyree, Andrew, and Alice Jay.
Babe was preceded in death by her parents; husband and siblings, Frank Donaldson, Joe Donaldson, Marge Blankenship, Catherine Kortte, Robert Donaldson, Josephine Chisler, Rosemary Hawkins, Shirley Goldstein, and two infant siblings.
