Loretta B. Koester, 90 of Lillyville, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lillyville, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.

Loretta was born July 25, 1931, in Lillyville, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Rieman) Ruholl. She married Walter R. Koester on April 18, 1953, and he preceded her in death in 2010. Loretta enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her garden and doing patchwork sewing.

Loretta is survived by her sons, Dean (Mary) of Effingham, Gary (Amy) of Sigel and David (Jenny) of Effingham; daughter, Janice (Dick) Dust of Effingham; son-in-law, Jerry Niemerg of Dieterich; eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rick Koester, and daughter, LeAnn Niemerg.
