Lloyd J. "Ed" Knierim, Jr., 74 of Effingham, passed away at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to "GoodDays from CDF" (Chronic Disease Fund) and may be left at the funeral home during services or may be made online at www.gooddaysfromcdf.org Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com
Lloyd was born December 26, 1940 in Effingham County, the son of Lloyd J. Knierim, Sr and Lucille (Conner) Knierim. He married Peggy Ann Rhodes on July 19, 1974 and she preceded him in death in 2000. He then married Lois C. Keck on March 17, 2005 and she preceded him in death in 2013. Lloyd was employed at Fedders Corporation for over 30 years.
Lloyd is survived by his two sons, William (Connie) of Terre Haute, Indiana and Herbert (Stephany) of Monument, Colorado; daughter, Carrie Ann Knierim of Effingham; brother, Gerald (Laura) of Effingham: sister, Alberta (Andy) Verdeyen of Effingham and five grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, Lilith, Sean and Alexys.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and wives.
