Linus J. Drees' Obituary
Linus J. Drees, 70, of Dieterich, passed away at 3:41 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Isidore Parish in Bishop Creek with burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011 at the church with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Linus was born January 11, 1941 in Effingham, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Cremer) Drees. He was a member of the St. Isidore Parish-Bishop Creek and the Teutopolis American Legion Post #924. Linus also served with the U.S. Army in Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Dieterich; one son, Patrick (Cindy) of Bishop; one daughter, Deborah (Dan) Blankenship of Teutopolis; 7 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.
Linus is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Coletta.
