Leona R. Hartke, 89 of Sigel, passed away Monday afternoon, April 14, 2014 at Lakeland Rehab and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in St. Rose Cemetery in Montrose. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the church with a 6:00 p.m. C.C.W. rosary. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Leona was born April 17, 1924 in Effingham, the daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Pruemer) Flach. She married Erban J. Hartke on June 13, 1945 and he preceded her in death 1967. Leona was the secretary/ treasurer with Home Farmers Mutual in Teutopolis for 28 years. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel and the Council of Catholic Women.

Leona is survived by her two sons, Tim (Barb) of Elgin, Tom (Susan) of South Elgin; two daughters, Mary J. (Don) Gher of Bellevue, WA and Betty J. (Phillip) Sudkamp of Sigel; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Erban and daughter, JoAnne.
