Laurie E. Puffinberger, 76, of Effingham, passed away at 2:50 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February, 22, 2013 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia with her brother, Rev. Kenneth Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia. Laurie was born September 29, 1936 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of William E. and Covey L. (Anderson) Jenkins. She married Lester B. Puffinberger, Sr. on June 1, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Laurie attended First Baptist Church in Effingham.

Laurie is survived by her daughter, Joyce D. (Harold "Bo") Moffitt of Dieterich; three sons, David R. Puffinberger, Sr of Glen Burnie, MD, Michael W. Puffinberger, Sr. of Winchester, VA and John M. Puffinberger, Sr. (Stephanie) of Culpepper, VA; two brothers, Paul Jenkins, Sr. of Boyce, VA and Rev. Kenneth Jenkins of Appomattox, VA; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; son, Lester Puffinberger, Jr.; sister, Betty Ann Everhart and grandson, Burly Dale Puffinberger.
