Larry was born July 16, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Louie and Helen (McCloud)Faletic. He married Debra Kay Vance of Cartersburg, Indiana on June 3, 1972 and moved from Indiana to Illinois in 1984. Upon moving, Larry began working for A.F.S. Enterprises overseeing and installing steel seawall, building boat docks and boat houses, mostly on Lake Sara, but also on many other area lakes. Larry opened his own seawall company in 1992, but later returned to A.F.S. and continued working with them until 2014.

Larry served from March 1970 – February 1972 in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry was stationed in Vietnam from September 1970 to September 1971 as a member of the 101st Airborne Division/2nd/320th Field Artillery. During his time in the service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Army Commendation Medal and Bronze Star Medal. The patriotism and pride he felt serving in the Army never left him, as his friends and family will attest.

Larry enjoyed having his morning coffee with his friends at the E.W.A. building, playing on a bowling and dart league for a number of years, hanging out with his buddies, watching NASCAR races, shooting pool and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. He was always the type of man who naturally commanded attention when he walked into a room. Larry was a strong man who beat the odds more times than not, being plagued with cancer five different times. He constantly shocked his doctors and nurses with his determination and willpower.

Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie of Altamont; two children, Loring (Scott) Barr of Watson and Lorne (Twila) Faletic of rural Mode; grandchildren, Rhemingtin Barr, Brianna Barr, Brennan Barr, Collier Faletic and one on the way; siblings, Deloris (Floyd) Hanson, Louise Thomas, Laura (Mike) Cooper, Lorraine Pryor, Lydia Zeller, Lynn (Doris) Faletic, Lee (Faline) Faletic.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Louie and brother-in-law, Bill Thomas.
