Kent Lee Devall, 60 of Effingham, passed away Sunday evening, March 20, 2016 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Grade School.
Kent was born November 24, 1955 in Mattoon, the son of Bob and Peggy (Richeson) Devall. He married Patti Emmerich on June 26, 1987. Kent earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Sangamon State and was employed in the accounting department of Joint Active Systems. He was a loving, wonderful husband and father. Kent enjoyed spending time with his wife, two sons and his beloved dog, Walker. He will be missed by all.
Kent is survived by his wife, Patti of Effingham; two sons, Rob and Chris, both of St. Louis, MO; parents, Bob and Peggy Devall of Effingham; brothers, Richard (Sandy) Devall and Bruce (Denise) Devall, both of Effingham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Jim (Betty) Emmerich of Effingham, Sr. Michelle Emmerich, SSND of St. Louis, MO, Joe (Pat) Emmerich of Effingham, Linda (Bob) Gruenwald of Decatur, Jerry Emmerich of Effingham; aunts and uncles, Joe (Jenette) Devall and Debbie (Paul) Bloemer, both of Effingham; eighteen nieces and nephews also survive.
