Kenneth Edward Esker age 82, of Teutopolis, Illinois passed on to eternal life on May 21, 2024 at 1:15 am.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a Celebration of Life service to follow.

Kenny was born November 14, 1941 in Effingham, Illinois; the son of the late Edward H. Esker and Leona (Myers) Esker. Kenny married Mary Jane Hoelscher, daughter of Edward and Emma (Will) Hoelscher, on September 14, 1963.

Kenny was a graduate of Teutopolis High School. He was employed for 42 years, and retired from Swingler Construction in Teutopolis. He served 30 years on the Teutopolis Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Teutopolis Town Board, and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. The outdoors was his church.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane Esker of Teutopolis; son, Doug (Shannon) Esker of Teutopolis, daughter, Jody (Darren) Gillum of Dieterich, and daughter, Dana (Dennis) Wente of Sigel; grandchildren, Brittany Goeckner, Lauren Muhs, Juston Gillum, Blake Kinkelaar, Nicole Koester, and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Myers; sister, Mary Katherine Nash, and great-grandson, Avery Muhs.
