Kay F. Schwarz, 65 of Teutopolis, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis, at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to time of service, Thursday evening at the funeral home. It was Kay's request that no flowers be sent; instead, please make a donation to the Effingham County Humane Society, P.O. Box 321, Effingham, Illinois 62401.
Kay was born November 2, 1949 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Hubert J. "Static" and Helen M. (Czerwonka) Schwarz. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham. Kay loved animals, especially dogs, and was a proud supporter of the National Humane Society. "It is our duty to be stewards of all animals and in return they will be our faithful friends".
Kay is survived by her special friends, Larry and Anita Holman, Marialice (Buford) and Gerson DeCastillo, the James Burford family, Mark and Judy Lueken, Suzanne Weber, Maggie Overbeck, Betty Jansen, Pat Weber and Kathy Fusco.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and dear friend, Laverne Siebert.
