Karen K. Hurst, 66 of Effingham, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Karen was born January 17, 1954 in Effingham, the daughter of John and Sarah (Beaver) Swinney. She married Orville Richard "Smiley" Hurst and he passed away in 1991. Karen was the part owner of Benwood Taxi Service.
Karen is survived by her children, Benny (Teresa) Hurst of Effingham, Stephen Hurst of Effingham and Sarah (Jeff) Reeves of Toledo; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and granddaughter, Anneilidia.
