Juanita R. Walters, 91, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at her home in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com
Juanita was born February 5, 1924 in Murphysboro, the daughter of Alex and Elizabeth (Mart) Shelby. She first married Donald Decoy, Sr. and he preceded her in death. Juanita then married Delmar T. Walters and he preceded her in death in 1976. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Effingham.
Juanita is survived by her six sons, Donald (Jane) Decoy of Altamont, Richard (Pat) Decoy of Georgetown, TX, Carl (Kathy) Walters of Toano, VA, Gerald (Lori) Walters of Columbia, MD, Ralph Walters of Effingham and Billy (Amy) Walters of Louisville; seventeen grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
