Joyce Ann Buhler, 64 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Private family graveside services will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Green Creek.

Joyce was born November 27, 1959 in Effingham, the daughter of Joseph and Alberta L. (Hilt) Apke. She married Frederick G. "Fred" Buhler on November 16, 1983.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Fred of Effingham; two daughters, Tara (Travis) Thompson of Alma and Niki (Bill) Story of Effingham; son, Zach of Effingham; seven grandchildren, Zayne, Bryce, Xander, Shelbie, Rage, Zoey, and Addison; two brothers, Dale (Carol) Apke of Effingham and Jim Apke of Decatur; sister, Dolores Jean (Skip) Slaughter of Hinsdale; sister-in-law, Betty Apke.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alfred H. "Al" Apke; and nephew, Mark Apke.
