Josephine "Joey" Borries, 94, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her home in Teutopolis surrounded by family.

A private memorial service will be held by her family at a later date.

Joey was born in Chicago on August 12, 1927 to Lester and Minnie Coriell. Joey married Clarence (BZ) Borries on June 16, 1948. They had 13 children. Joey spent many years working as a cook at 76 Truck Stop in Effingham in addition to raising her family.

Joey is survived by her children: Art (Liz) Borries, Mary Borries, Patti (Mick, deceased) McWhorter, Jim (Vickie) Borries, Rita (Kevin) Williams, Nancy (Doug) Dial, Steve (Tess) Borries, Rose (Gary) Aldora, Carol (Jim) Hoelscher, Dan (Darlene) Borries, Grace Borries, 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Joey was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, son Rich, daughter Alice, grandson Lucas and her siblings Bob, Mildred, Pat, Ruth and Grace.
