Joseph E. Boyt, Sr., 56 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Joseph was born July 24, 1964 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, the son of George Boyt, Sr. and Vivian A. (Vallery) Boyt.

He is survived by his children, Scott Boyt (Stephanie Barding), Bridgit Boyt (Gaige McWhorter), Joseph Boyt II, Dakota Logan, Dominick Logan, Toireasa Boyt, Matthew Boyt, Patric Boyt and Jackson Boyt; grandchildren, Brianna Boyt, Sydney Underhill and Drayden McWhorter.
