Joni M. Goeckner, 62 of Teutopolis, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 28, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to the time of mass, Monday at the church, in St. Clare Hall. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.

Joni was born May 7, 1960 in Springfield, the daughter of James and Mary Ann (Zacha) Treat. She married Leon F. Goeckner on September 18, 1982. Joni was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women.

Joni is survived by her husband, Leon of Teutopolis; daughters, Lauren Goeckner (Justin Lin) of Greenup and Lindsay (Casey) Garrison of Florissant, Missouri; son, Taylor (Maggie) Goeckner of Urbana; six grandchildren, Carter, Lawson, Melody, Coco, DeeDee and Mickey; sisters, Janine (David) Childress, Janet (Philip) Kaiser and Joy Thompson, all of Beecher City and Julie (Keith) Graumenz of St. Peter; brother, James (Sue) Treat Jr. of Dieterich.

Joni was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, John and Lucille Goeckner, and step-father, Berton Fishburn.
