Joe H. Schmohe, 86, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his home in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont with Pastor Jim Wright officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to funeral services, Tuesday morning at the church.

Joe was born July 25, 1934, the son of Ernest and Frances Schmohe. He married Leah Beals on November 29, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 2012. Joe was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark (Frances) of Tecumseh, OK and Clay; 10 grandchildren, Shantell, Harley, Michael, Dustin, Nichole, Elizabeth, Katy, Helen, Natalie and Amanda; 18 great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Crystal Evans; siblings, Hollis Schmohe, Elsagene Schmohe and Ruth Campbell; grandson, Joseph.
