Joanne Marie "Jo" Ahillen, 56 of Effingham, passed away at 12:44 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with Fr. Chris Brey officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Jo was born July 28, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Alma (Bruggeman) Breitenstein. She married Robert R. Ahillen on September 5, 1980 and he survives. Jo worked for many years in oral surgery and dentistry offices, both locally and in the St. Louis area, as well as being employed for 9 years at Patterson Technology Center in Effingham. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham.
Jo is survived by her husband, Robert of Effingham and son, Timothy of Carbondale. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Tom.
