Joan C. Meyer, 80, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at her home in rural Effingham.

Private family services will be held with burial in St. Michael Cemetery in Sigel. Memorial donations may be given to Bethany Christian Services -Intact Family Services- and will be accepted by mail at Bauer Funeral Home, ℅ Meyer Memorial, 1212 West Evergreen Avenue, Effingham, Illinois 62401.

Joan was born July 15, 1939 in Teutopolis, the daughter of the late Bernard and Edna (Westendorf) Krone. She married Richard J. "Dick" Meyer on November 26, 1966 and he preceded her in death in 2013. For many years, Joan was a seamstress at Kern Manufacturing in Neoga and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel.

Joan is survived by her son, William D. "Bill" (Annette) Meyer of Effingham; brother, Leroy (Judy) Krone of Teutopolis; sisters, Mildred (Raymond) Braun of Teutopolis and Ruth (Dennis) Walk of Neoga; grandchildren, Michelle Russell (Michael Dahl), Mike Meyer, Richard Meyer (Shelby Jones) and Christopher Meyer; great-grandchildren, Meika Dahl and Cora Mae Meyer.
