Joan (Berry) Jourdan, 90 of Effingham, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga.

Private services will be held with burial in Honey Cemetery in Bogota.

Joan was born on December 10, 1935 in Olney, the daughter of Kenneth and Evelyn (Chesnut) Berry. She married Jackie Jourdan and they operated a farm together for many years. Joan was a woman of great faith. She also loved to travel around the world with her husband in earlier years.

Joan is survived by her son, Jed Jourdan of Effingham, and daughter Jodi Ellis of Butler County, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michael Hodges, Sarah Hodges, Tiffany Ellis, and Tyler Ellis; one great-granddaughter, Emma Hodges; and one brother, Ronnie Berry.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Jackie Jourdan.
