Jerry Lee Katz, 86 of Effingham, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to time of service, Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the Effingham County Humane Society or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Jerry was born July 22, 1939 in Effingham, the son of Robert and Ivanel (Babbs) Katz. He married Patricia Jo "Pat" Monical on June 25, 1967. Jerry worked for many years as a pressman for World Color Press, was a long-time member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham, and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat of Effingham; son, Jerry (Cyndee) of Clay City; grandsons, Nick Katz and Tyler (McKenna) Katz; great-grandchildren, Reeve and Miller; sister, Pat Miller and brother-in-law, Leon (Carol) Monical.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Katz.
