Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Cutright, 59 of rural Dieterich, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Cutright Cemetery in rural Greenup. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
Jeff was born May 14, 1958 in Joliet, the son of Ronald C. and Peggy J. (Horath) Cutright. He attended school in Joliet and later obtained his Associates Degree in Agriculture from Joliet Junior College. Jeff married Sue Downey and they were blessed with five children. He was employed for over 20 years at Fedders Corp. in Effingham and later an installer for ICT Fiber Optics and most recently a professor at LakeLand College in Mattoon.
Jeff had a love for his hair, singing karaoke and playing guitar. As a history buff, he treasured the trips he took with his family across the country. Jeff also enjoyed riding his Harley and taking in all the outdoors had to offer. He had a passion for teaching, whether it be his students at LakeLand or the people he encountered along his life's journey. Jeff had a caring heart and did all he could for others.
Jeff's biggest joy in life was his family. They include his four daughters, Jennifer (Jackson) Bean of Rockwall, TX, Amy (Bradley) Beck of Watson, Ashley (Jason) Welk of Rockwall, TX and Katlyn (Joseph) Dumancas of Beaver Creek, OH; son, Matthew of Dieterich; mother, Peggy Cutright of Joliet; two brothers, Tim (Laura) of Effingham and Mike (Michelle) of Conifer, CO; his beloved nine grandchildren, Taylor Walker, Caitlyn Welk, Emily Welk, Brayden Welk, Alexus Russell, Dominic Boyer, Alizabeth Beck, Adale Beck and Scarlett Dumancas; and his companion, Toni Chisler of rural Dieterich.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father.
