Jeanette E. Wernsing, 84, of Teutopolis passed away at 12:42 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, Friday morning at the church. Memorials may be made to Teutopolis Grade School or the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Jeanette was born August 23, 1926 in Effingham, the daughter of Louis and Della (Hakman) Swingler. She married Leonard B. Wernsing on May 29, 1947. Jeanette was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one son, Bill of Shumway; two daughters, Susan (Jerry) Brummer and Christy (Doug) Stephens, both of Teutopolis; four grandchildren, Monica (Kenneth) Reini, Christopher (Jenny) Brummer, Kimberly (Jimy) Vigue, Ross (Jenny) Stephens; four sisters, Rosemary Lueken and Eloise Wallin, both of Teutopolis, Arlene (Harold) Bushue of Rankin, Karen (Jerry) Wente of Effingham; two sister-in-laws, Mary Swingler and Reta Swingler both of Effingham.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Philip; three brothers, Robert, Jerry and Louis Jr. "Butch".
