Jean Webb, age 80 of Effingham, slipped away peacefully in her sleep with her family near, to join her beloved Herbert at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home and for one hour prior to funeral services, Friday afternoon. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Jean was born January 23, 1934 in Martin, Tennessee, the daughter of Willis and Flora (Stevenson) Cross. She married Dr. Herbert F. Webb on October 14, 1972 and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2000. Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Effingham and a longtime nurse at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Jean is survived by her two daughters, Pam (Larry) Molt of Effingham and Kimberly Webb of Naperville; two step-daughters, Ellen (Ron) Rose and Margie Best, both of Apex, N.C.; grandchildren, Renne (Kirk) Kruenegel of Las Vegas, N.V., Rob Beckler of Beecher City, Lance Molt of Effingham, Chance Molt of Effingham, Danielle Wade of LaGrange, KY, Nathan Wade of Nashville, TN, Johnny (Veronica) Koester of Freeport, Matthew (special friend, Kathy) Koester and Mariah Koester of Naperville; step-grandchildren, Charolette of Wilmington, N.C., Stephanie of Burgaw, N.C., Benjamin Rose of Angier, N.C., David Rose of Apex, N.C. and Olivia Webb of Newburn, N.C.; also surviving are thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, with two more due this December.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Danny and Gary Wade; step-son, Charles Webb; sister, Virginia Lawrence.
