Janet M. Mietzner, 66 of Effingham, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Janet was born August 17, 1955 in Effingham, the daughter of Ross and Iris (Cutler) Mietzner. She married Richard L. Rick" Dye and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Janet is survived by her son, Thomas (Pamela) Shumard; step-children, Brandi (David) Zarillo, Shannon Dye, Casey (Chris) Tappendorf, Matt (Denise) Dye and Skylar Dye; grandchildren, Damien Shumard, Destiny Shumard, Meadow Shumard and Shelby Pulcher; step-grandchildren, Makenzie Boles, Anthony Medrano, Jah'nez Trammell, Everley Tappendorf, Brooks Tappendorf, Callyn Dye and Topanga Chaney; brothers, Jack (Candy) Fowler, Wayne Steele and Jim Mietzner; sisters, Judy Lane and Jayne (Tom) Young; nieces and nephews, Dana Shelton, Jackie Hammond, Michelle Barnes, Misty Swofford, Wendy Young and Josh Young; special friend, Dennis Butts.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William "Bill" Mietzner; nephew, Jeremy Young and niece, Bobby Jo.
