Janet M. Keyes' Obituary
Janet M. Keyes, 91, of Effingham went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, N.Y. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Carol Martin Academy, Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa, and made directly to the family or Bauer Funeral Home, 1212 W. Evergreen Ave., Effingham.
Janet was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Auburn, N.Y., the daughter of William and Fannie (Elsheimer) Mersereau. She married Neil E. Keyes on Dec. 24, 1941, and he died in 2009. Janet was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Collier) Martin of Effingham; stepgrandchildren, William C. (Vivian) Martin Jr. of Fort Mill, N.C., MaryAnn (Alan) Tomson of Fairfax, Va., Patricia (Gerald) Purcell of Effingham and Nancy L. Martin of Effingham; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
