James A. Kuhns' Obituary
James A. Kuhns Jr., 66 of Dix, formerly of Effingham, was taken home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022.
Jim/Jimmy, born on November 25, 1956 was a loving father, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father James Aloysius Kuhns and his brother, Terry Kuhns.
He is survived by his mother Patricia (Wente) Kuhns, his sisters Kathy (Mike Dirks), Tammy( Bob Utz), his children Carissa (Chris Hunter), Corey, and Chris (Kim), his grandchildren Noah, Owen, Joseph, Jordan, Austin, Kayleigh, Jaelyn, Colton, and many nieces and nephews.
James faithfully worked in the hotel, food, and woodworking industry until his retirement. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. He loved sports, action movies, playing cards, and manning the grill. He also loved spicy food and sweets, but most of all he loved his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Effingham Event Center, formerly the Knights of Columbus Hall.
