James R. Hawickhorst, 71, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home in Teutopolis.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of service, Friday morning at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.

James was born November 15, 1946 in Effingham, the son of Wilbert A. and Rose W. (Dust) Hawickhorst. He is survived by his brother, Phillip (Terry) Hawickhorst of Greenup and two nieces, Beth and Becky.

James was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Brown.
