Holden T. Schmidt, 20 of Stewardson, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with burial in Richland Cemetery, Strasburg. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to wear pink or something bright colored. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family to assist with final expenses.

Holden was born April 26, 2004 in Effingham, the son of Steven Schmidt and April Ulmer. He loved all sports, but especially football. Holden was a leader; the first to jump off the bridge, not follow.

He is survived by his mother, April Ulmer; father, Steve Schmidt; brother, Bryce Ulmer; grandmother, Phylis Thomas; grandparents, Bob and Kathey Gray; uncles and aunts, Garrett (Jamie) Ulmer, Harley (Stacy) Gray, Hunter (Faith) Gray, Mel (Amy) Gray, Steve Gray, and Rob (Sarah) Quast; grandfather, Steve Ulmer; great-grandmother, Beulah "Mimi" Ulmer, as well as many cousins and friends.

Holden was preceded in death by his grandmother, "Granny" Becky Ulmer; grandfather, Oscar Thomas; great-grandparents, Gale and Dorothy Kuhring; great-grandfather, Richard Ulmer, and his aunt, Sandy Bell.
