Henry Mark Hackman, 74, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his home in Shumway.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial to follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Shumway.

Henry was born August 20, 1947 in Mattoon, the son of Roy and Gertrude (Ludwig) Hackman. He married JoAnn Keller on December 13, 1969 and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2020. Henry worked on the railroad for many years and later in life, as a farmer. He enjoyed working on vehicles and farming equipment for his friends and neighbors. Henry loved riding his four-wheeler with his dog, Rusty, by his side.

Henry is survived by his sons, Jim (Lynn) of Coralville, IA and Daniel (Christina) of Shumway; grandchildren, Luke Hackman, Lexi Hackman, Kylee Dearnbarger, Kloe Dearnbarger, Kaylee Dearnbarger, Christian Williams and Dalton Lee; sister, Mary Kallaus of Mesquite, TX.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, JoAnn; two sisters, Rosemary Stephens and Delores Arthur; three brothers, Clarence, Joe and Paul.
