Helen L. Sanders' Obituary
Helen L. Sanders, 96, of Effingham, passed away at 3:14 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Gowin Parc Memory Center in Mattoon.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheeler with entombment in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham and for one hour prior to funeral service, Monday morning at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Dieterich Community Education Endowment or to the donor's choice.
Helen was born on May 8, 1915 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of August and Helena (Herrmann) Pilger. Helen married Jesse F. Sanders on December 22, 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheeler.
She leaves behind one son, Richard (Mary Ann) of Effingham; one daughter, Kathryn (Gene) Weisshaar of Fort Collins, CO; four grandchildren, Cynthia Hinck of San Antonio, TX, Jason Sanders of Bloomington, Chad Weisshaar of Denver, CO, and Ryan Weisshaar of New York City; two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Bennett Hinck.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant sister, Adeline and one grandchild, Steven.
