Harriet C. "Sis" Borries, 86, of Teutopolis, passed away at 4:13 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the church in Teutopolis. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Right to Life or to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Harriet was born August 23, 1925 in rural Teutopolis, the daughter of Harry and Clara (Schneck) Pruemer. She married Joseph E. Borries on June 17, 1947 and he survives. Harriet was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald (Mary), Thomas and Leonard, all of Teutopolis; granddaughter, Lisa (Josh) Hutson of Effingham; four brothers, Herb of Teutopolis, Jerome (Louise) of Shelbyville, Gerald (Carol) of Teutopolis and David of Teutopolis; aunt, Gertrude Pruemer of Teutopolis; sisters-in-law, Mary Pruemer of Effingham, Josephine Borries of Teutopolis and Mary Ann Borries of Effingham.

Harriet is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence "Bud", Edward, and Henry "Butch"; infant sister, Dorothy.
