Harold L. Bahrns, 87, of Effingham, passed away at 8:15 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2012 at Casey Health Care Center in Casey.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham and for one hour prior to the funeral service, Friday morning at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. www.bauerfh.com
Harold was born January 2, 1925 in Effingham, the son of Christian and Ella (Diehl) Bahrns. He married Violet M. (Wente) on January 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death in 2008. Harold was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham.
He is survived by his three sons, Keith (Patsy) of Effingham, Dennis (Mary) of Mattoon and Alan (Julie) of Effingham; ten grandchildren, Nathan, Elizabeth, Scott, Tanyia, Jennifer (Andy), Stephanie (Travis), Toby (fiancée, Kendra), Melissa (Mike), Christopher and Megan; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet; one sister, Esther Wilkins and grandson, Shane.
