Giovanna Capezzuto, 88, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at her home in Effingham.

A private family memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, where she was a member for many years.

Giovanna was born May 2, 1933 in Paluzza, Italy, the daughter of Paulo and Orsola (Gragero) Ortis. She was a day care provider for 14 years at Kiddie Corner and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Giovanna is survived by her husband, Nicola of Effingham; children, Riccardo (Nancy) Capezzuto of Aurora, Roberto (Rebecca) Capezzuto of Peachtree City, GA, & Teresa Hughes of Plainfield; grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie), Alexandra, Nicola, Massimiliano, Nina, Marissa and Domenico.
