Gilberto Lira Elizalde, 50, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his home in Effingham.

Gilberto was born August 22, 1970 in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico, the son of Roberto Lira Ochoa and Blanca Elizalde Najera. He married Olga Cristina Palacio Gutierrez on January 9, 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Olga; sons, Cristian Roberto Lira Palacio and Miguel Omar Lira Palacio; daughter, Olga Cristina Hern á ndez Lira; grandchildren, Angel Omar Lira, Kenia Lindsey Lira, Genesis Itzel Lira, Ignacio de Jesús Hernández Jr., and Aaron MateoHernández; father, Roberto Lira Ochoa; brothers, Roberto Lira Elizalde, José Guadalupe Lira Elizalde and Francisco Lira Elizalde; sister, Elvira Elena Lira Elizalde.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m.Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church.600 W. Fayette Ave.,Effingham, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to time of service, Sunday evening at the church.
