Gertrude C. Pruemer, 92 of Teutopolis, passed away at 5:02 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. A C.C.W. rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Right to Life (P.O. Gertrude was born August 28, 1923 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schoenhoff) Borries. She married Sylvester Pruemer and he preceded her in death in 1989. Gertrude was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and St. Francis Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed playing a good game of cards with friends, as well as playing dominos. Gertrude loved baking angel food cake for any occasion.
Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Kay (Ralph) Lee of Morton; two sons, Charles (Donna) Pruemer of Bruceville, TX and Kenneth (Stormy) Pruemer of Mt. Zion; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Christy) Lee, Patrick (Dianna) Lee, Sondra (Matt) Johnson, Eric (Trudee) Pruemer, Kevin (Jocelyn) Pruemer, Kristien Pruemer, Courtney Pruemer and Khabran (Claire)Peters; eight great-grandchildren, Adrian Lee, Jonathan Lee, Maya Lee, Anthony Pruemer, Nicholas Pruemer, Max Pruemer, Scarlett Pruemer and Avory Peters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Raymond and Anthony; sister, Anna Marie Hinkle.
