Obituary

Geralyn A. "Geri" Grunloh, 58, passes away at 9:40 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2011 at her home in Teutopolis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the church with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the Crossroads Cancer Center & Project Linus (quilts for hospitalized children). Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis in charge of arrangements.

Geri was born on June 20, 1952, the daughter of Art & Luella (Overbeck) Buenker. She married Charles Grunloh on September 11, 1971.

Geri was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, St. Francis Lady Sodality, the Crossroads Quilters Guild and Project Linus.

She is survivored by her husband, Charles Grunloh of Teutopolis; four children, Michele (Chris) Apke of Teutopolis, Mike (Traci Miller) Grunloh of Jackson, MO, Doug (Erin Westjohn) Grunloh of Sigel and Jim (Jill Stephens) Grunloh, Effingham; one brother, Donald (Mardell) Buenker of Teutopolis; two sisters, Mary Beth (Harold) Hartke of Teutopolis and Ruth (Bill) Hunt of Oakland, IL; ten grandchildren, Clayton, Allison, and Mitchell Apke of Teutopolis, Charles and Maggie Grunloh of Jackson, MO, Benjamin and Alex Grunloh of Sigel, Elisabeth Grunloh of Effingham, Gage and Addison Puls of Jackson, MO. Geri was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James "Pete" Buenker.
