George J. Bauer, 80, passed away Tuesday evening, February 19, 2019 at his residence in Effingham.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Church or Schools.

George was born August 29, 1938 in Effingham, the son of George and Clara (Finkeldye) Bauer. He served with the United States Army and was President of the Beecher City Bank. George was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effinghm. He was also a member of the Effingham Knights of Columbus #665, American Legion #120, V.F.W., Elks Lodge #1016 and the D.A.V..

George was preceded in death by his parents and two half-sisters.
