Fredrick E. "Fred" Huntington, 79, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home in Effingham.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 15, 2016 at the Effingham Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Huntington was born April 29, 1936 in Chicago, the son of Fred and Ruth (Stoll) Huntington. He married Georgia I. Steppe on November 30, 1974 at The First Presbyterian Church in Effingham. Fred was a United States Navy veteran and retired from World Color Press in Effingham. He enjoyed golfing with his family and friends and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Fred is survived by his wife, Georgia of Effingham; daughter, Angela Lawyer of Stewardson; four grandchildren, Cody, Brayden, Joseph and Danielle Lawyer, all of Stewardson; four brothers, Chuck (Dolly) of Oak Lawn, George (Ardel), Jim (Christine) and Paul (Jenna), all of Effingham; two sisters, Judy (Charles) DeLong and Joye (John) Bushue, both of Effingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
