Frank J. Tegeler, 90 of Effingham, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek, with burial in the church cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to time of service, Saturday morning at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Frank was born January 29, 1925 in Effingham, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Ludwig) Tegeler. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War and was a purple heart recipient. Frank enjoyed farming and had worked for the Illinois Glove Factory for many years. He was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek, the Sigel American Legion Post #1134 and the Effingham V.F.W. Post #1769.
Frank is survived by his brother, Alphonse (Margie) Tegeler of St. Ann, Missouri and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Frances, Sr. Christine, Louise Clagg and Magdalen Morris; five brothers, Lawrence, George, Conrad, Aloysius and Henry.
