Frank A. "Matt" Bernhard, 73 of Effingham, was called to be reunited with his loved ones in heaven. The angel of the Lord came for him at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service, Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com.
Frank was born February 15, 1942 in Effingham, the son of Walford and Alma (Carroll) Berhard, whom he dearly loved. He was employed by Effingham Equity, Bobber, T.A. Truck Stop and was a farmer for many years. Frank was a member of the Stewardson Fall Festival and the Sheriff's Posse committee. He enjoyed watching NBA basketball, taking trips to Dayton Beach for "Bike Week" and most of all, his love for his motorcycles.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Corina JoAnn (Martin) Stockwell of Corydon, IN; son, Eric Matthew (Renata) Bernhard of Vacaville, CA; his one and only sister, Beulah (Leroy) Ziegler of Shumway; grandchildren, Gabriel Stockwell and David, Alexander and Leonell Bernhard.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed by his family.
