Evelyn M. Krone's Obituary
Evelyn M. Krone, 82, of Teutopolis, died at 9:44 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with private family burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Evelyn was born October 30, 1928 in Effingham, the daughter of Donald and Clara (Utz) Rhodes, Sr. She married Virgil W. Krone at St. Frances Catholic Church in Teutopolis in 1948.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham. Evelyn was passionate about helping the homeless. She traveled to Champaign, IL on a weekly basis for nine years to volunteer at a homeless shelter.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Virgil; six sons, Bill of St. Louis, MO, Randy (Cindy) of Kirkwood, MO, Tim (Brandy) of Champaign, Terry of Normal, Ron (Christine) of Lake Villa, Jerry (Joyce) of Edwardsville; one brother, James "Jim" (Alice) Rhodes of Effingham; 10 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald Rhodes, Jr.
