Ethel M. "Tink" Wilson, 85 of Effingham, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A parish prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to H.S.H.S. St. Anthony's Hospice.
Ethel was born September 3, 1931 in Kinmundy, the daughter of Glenn and Mary (Ludwig) Davis. She married William R. "Willy" Wilson on September 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Ethel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and the Sacred Heart Altar Sodality. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished every moment with her loved ones, especially the gatherings at her home for special occasions and holidays. Ethel had a very giving heart and was always there to listen and care for her family and friends.
Ethel will be greatly missed by her three daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Weaver of Crossville, TN, Cindy (Steve) Aukamp of Effingham and Donna Jean (Galen) Nelson of Salem, IN; two brothers, Charles (Sherry) Davis of Heartville and John R. Davis of Effingham; three sisters, Emma Peterson of Divernon, Ruth Kramer of Sun City, FL and Sharon Craddock of Pass Christian, MS; five granddaughters, Trisha Leo, Miranda Hill, Kathleen Shumaker, Joanna Aukamp and Stephanie Crompton; nine great-grandchildren also survive.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, George and Frank and sister, Mildred Sage.
